Tales of Old Ireland is a selection of various old stories and folktales written during the late 19th century and the early years of the 20th century. The authors are not necessarily the greatest Irish authors but the stories give a true flavor of Irish wit and humor and the sense of a good story. Some of the authors herein are: William Carleton, Samuel Lover, John Banim, Thomas Crofton Croker, Gerald Griffin, George Moore, Canon Sheehan, Somerville and Ross, W.B. Yeats, Frank Mathew, Agnes Castle, Shan F. Bullock, Seamas MacManus, Daniel Corkery, Seamus O'Kelly and James Joyce.
